When we set it up we went to Canon's website and downloaded the latest software for the scanner. It worked fine. Then we did the macOS upgrade and the scanner stopped working.
Back to Canon, download the software and reinstall again. Still didn't work. That's when I posted my question to the group. I decided to try once more. This time, started by deleting everything associated with the scanner and start from scratch. Downloaded the files from Canon one more time, did the installs again.
This time it worked. The scanner is working fine. It's such a simple process I don't know where we could have gone wrong, or why the problem came up to begin with.
