What is the point of paying for a 'Consumer' product with less features and the same price than a 'Pro' tool?? I just bought Affinity and guess what? Easy to use even for a beginner. Why should it work the same as PS? Besides, there are certain things GIMP does way better than PS and at least a couple of items that PS either does not do at all or does it in a much more complex as well as cumbersome way, which makes it practically useless! Statistics app for mac os.
In fact, that's the biggest problem with PS: great in some areas, even unique, but so mediocre in other areas one wonders how come that ever happens if Adobe is truly a 'professional' firm specializing in pro graphics and photo / video software? PhotoLine is awesome; have been using it for quite a few years now (since v.13 -- and it is now v.19.51 and they do a version upgrade about every two years, so work it out!) and it has just got better and better. One thing I really like about it is that it is very small but does a HUGE variety of tasks (super tight coding -- I love using the sharpest tool in the drawer) nsd it is dad easy to install/uninstall so taking he free 30 day fully functional trial is no problem at all. They are engineers, LOL. We all know about the 'Gold Standard' aka Adobe Photoshop. No one knows it better than Adobe and they see fit to price their product accordingly. However, choosing Photoshop does not automatically elevate or designate one as a 'professional'. Naturally, a lot of professionals choose Photoshop because it naturally is the 'professional's choice' but it is not the ONLY choice when it comes graphics and photo processing.
