Is Bootcamp Safe For Mac
Pick Mac OS X and boot. Now, once you’re up and running, go to Apple –> System Preferences –> Startup Disk and you’ll see the following: Select Mac OS X rather than Windows XP, and you should automatically boot into Mac OS X each time until you again use the “Option” at boot time to select Windows XP by hand. Hope that helps you out. Safe Mode is a stripped down version of the Mac operating system that can be useful if you are trying to troubleshoot issues with your Mac: perhaps it is running slowly, maybe an app is causing.
I recently bought a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3, and I was wondering if I could install Windows 7 or such to play certain games through BootCamp. Is this safe for my mac? Also, if it comes to it, would I be able to reverse the whole thing, making my macbook run completely on OSX again, without losing all. Also, if it comes to it, would I be able to reverse the whole thing, making my macbook run completely on OSX again, without losing all my data? What about viruses, what if I get one on my windows part of the harddrive? Best Answer: BootCamp is a program that comes with your computer's operating system - i.e. The 'Lion' part so, YES, it should be safe - unless you've had to download it from the net - then I'd worry. You should be able press command+space bar type start typing 'boot camp' and it will show up under 'Applications' as Boot Camp Assistant. It works by creating a special place on your hard drive for Windows 7 to run off.
'\'outlook for mac\' \'address book\''. So if you (hypothetically) have a 500GB hard drive, you can take 150GB out to be Windows only. This means you'd only have 350GB for the Mac part.
I had a virus on my Windows partition on my Mac and it didn't affect the Mac partition BUT I'm not 100% sure if this is a general rule - a good firewall/security program (not Norton) is a good idea anyway whether you are concerned about viruses or not. BootCamp can be used again to 'reverse' it - but you'll lose all your Windows data - not Mac.
Again, I'd still be backing up regularly anyway. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed. Please upload a file larger than 100x100 pixels • We are experiencing some problems, please try again. • You can only upload files of type PNG, JPG, or JPEG.
