Is there a way to 'Archive' pages of onenote? I have a notebook for each school semester, and sections for each class. I close the old notebooks at the end of each semester, but would like to be able to archive (not have a local copy of) old pages in certain sections. Like the material from the beginning of the semester. Currently my OneNoteOfflineCache_Files folder is over 10 gigs big, that takes up a lot of space on a 64 gig device. It won't let me move it to the SD card (must be a non-removable device), and I dont see any other way of removing the local copy of older material from the cache.
Any suggestions? Assuming OP is using cloud connected notebooks (the only way in all versions except Windows Desktop) he already has a copy backed up online. What you are describing will not fix it. Closing the notebook does not remove it from the cache. It's a real pain in the ass, but if you want that space back you should 1) make sure all of your changes are synced to the cloud (important!!!) 2) close the notebooks you no longer wish to have locally (past semesters, etc) and then 3) delete the onenote cache file on disk. When you launch the app again the notebooks will still be open but the cache will be empty, OneNote will sync down all of the still open notebooks and repopulate the cache - without the closed notebooks.
