Best Application For Editing Drone Footage On Mac

What’s the best software for editing drone videos? Passport Paul’s company wants to create professional-looking videos from drone camera footage. What are the options?

IMovie probably came free with your Mac but I forget if it supports 2.7K or 4K footage. Final Cut Pro X is the obvious upgrade to prosumer/professional use. It may seem expensive but (1) it dropped 75% or so since the prior major release, and (2) spread that cost over years and it's a no-brainer. It seems today that the 'Drone world' tends to consider itself apart from from everything else forgetting that many other followings created the foundation that it now uses to design and control such machines. It is also true of the tablet / smartphone world. Hijacking words and giving new meanings.

Please can you suggest which software is the easiest to use and most intuitive to create professional videos on both Windows and Mac? Paul Coleman Bad news I’m afraid. No serious video editing program is intuitive or easy to use, and the more power you need, the harder things get.

Application

Worse news still. There are dozens of options, but there is no “best”. Or at least, the best option depends on the video file formats you are trying to edit, the hardware you have available, what you need to do, how skilled you are, and your personal taste in software. There is good news, though. Most video editors are free, or offer free trial periods, or have limited free versions with paid upgrades to the full versions. Houses expect you to try a few programs before you find one that suits you. Pick a simple editing operation and try it with the most likely options using the same 60-second video.

If you can’t manage a simple operation in a reasonable time, you won’t have much luck with the complicated ones.
